In Which Samuel Gets A Visit From His Grandparents...

So, while I really have no excuse as to why I'm so behind on this blog, I suppose I could claim that it's because my parents came to town for a few days...or maybe not...I've just been away from the computer a lot more lately...

I can't believe our little man is officially 21 weeks old today! Where has time gone?! This little dude is almost 5 months old! Crazy. He keeps growing and learning new things with each hour that passes. Tonight, he discovered that the steering wheel on his automobile walker is a great teether, and JUST before I got on here to do the Halloween blog post, he figured out how to sit up on his own in the tripod position -- where he leans forward and keeps himself balanced with his hands. That last discovery took me by surprise! It's so fun watching him explore!

With Samuel continually growing and changing, my parents couldn't get over how much he has changed since we were in Indy in August. During their visit, my mom commented several times about how little Samuel wants to grow up so fast. He keeps trying to talk and wants to stand up as much as possible. Such a sweet little boy. That's all he did tonight -- stand up on us and try to teeth on James' fingers...oh, and laugh at everything James did or said...

Before long, he'll be standing on his own and cutting teeth. Slow down, little man!

Speaking of pictures of Samuel...while I don't have 21 week pictures of Sam in his chair, I took some late last week and I just love seeing the changes...

His name will probably be the first thing he learns to spell with as often as he stares at it...

Love that smile...

He sure does love his daddy!!!

But he's not as keen on hanging out like this...

Talk about a drool monster!

And apparently his momma is quite scary...

In other news, he cuddled up with his Grandma Julie and Grandpa Grant quite a bit while they were here. I just love seeing him with them. After so many years of only having a picture or description of their Moore grandbabies, they finally get to love on one of them...

Poor Sam. The sun was shining through right on him...

Grandma Julie with our little bat...

A SOOC shot, so I'm sure it could be cleaned up a bit, but while Grandpa Grant was holding him, I loved this shot of his eyes. According to James, Samuel got the color from his Great Grandpa Les -- I was unfortunately never able to meet him before he passed away, but I'll take his word for it. Love the color!

To go along with all of these pictures, I recruited my mom to take a family picture of us at the park while they were here. I figured this was easier than using the tripod! (Sorry, Oba, the ones with you in it didn't turn out as well...)

And before we left the park, I caught Samuel enjoying time with his daddy. This picture makes me grin every time I see it...

We had a GREAT visit with my parents. I'm so glad they were able to make the last-minute visit! As a bonus, the temperature ended up dropping enough to where we could use the fire pit. I know Obadiah enjoyed scouting out possible treats, too. My mom almost fell victim to him at one point when she held her s'more within reach...

After being unsuccessful at sneaking a treat, he came over for some lovin'...

If I had it my way, we'd break out the fire pit every single night. There's just something so calming about sitting in front of the fire...

Unfortunately, time doesn't always permit for that. Luckily, things slowed down a bit with my parents in town, so it was wonderful being able to enjoy an evening in front of the fire with them. Heck, the whole weekend was great! I was sad to see them go. Assuming no other family members decide to come down for a visit (the invite is always there!), the next in line will be my sister, Deb, when she comes to visit over Thanksgiving. I can't wait!

Well, now that I've rambled on long enough and displayed a ridiculous amount of pictures (as usual), I'm off to bed. Sam and I have a date in the morning and it doesn't look like I'll be all that alert for it at this point. We'll see!
