Another Fun Week With The Boy...

Minus a frustrating afternoon dealt with our health insurance company, this past week was filled with memorable outings and time spent as a family. The weather has finally cooled down a bit here in GA and I'm loving it! This is our favorite time of the year and I'm so glad we get to enjoy it with Samuel!

The little guy just keeps growing, learning, and exploring with each new day...

We now know he's a fan of sweet potatoes and butternut squash, but the same can't be said about zucchini. Ha. In fact, we had to add a little rice cereal and milk to the zucchini for him to thoroughly enjoy it.

We also know that he takes after his father (and Opa!), as he tries to inhale his food. If I don't give him his little one ounce of solids at dinner fast enough, he'll grab the washcloth and try to eat that or grab the spoon out of my hand and try to use it himself. If only he could understand that the food's not going anywhere and that he can take his time!

The poor kid spent a couple nights this past week being rather upset at bedtime, so he won us over and got to sleep with us. No, he's not spoiled at all. When he was in his own bed, he continued to do his 90 degree turn and went from being parallel with the wall to being perpendicular and having his feet stick out of the crib bars -- he's reminding me more and more of his Aunt Debbie when she was little with how much he moves around in his sleep...

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse brings the biggest smiles in the morning, and when dad changes his diaper, he laughs at everything that's said. He's also quite the fan of his walker and entertainer...

These were taken about a week ago, but they make us smile so much, as Samuel and Obadiah are becoming best buds more and more with each new day...

A quick hello as he drives by...

Since I've finally uploaded a couple videos for family...Here's a video of Samuel on his piano entertainer...

And a video well after his major belly laughs during a diaper change. By this time, I think he was more or less laughing just to appease us since the camera was on...

In other news, we went back to the pumpkin patch once more as well as the Army's version of Oktoberfest. Going to the Oktoberfest event made us both really homesick for Germany. We both really hope we can get stationed there again at some point! According to James, the beer was just alright, but the food was surprisingly good -- again, made me homesick! Sam was a good sport -- sitting in his stroller, observing the crowd and music...

Samuel's second visit to the pumpkin patch...

James and Samuel at Ft. Benning's version of Oktoberfest. Schnitzel im Brötchen...yum...

Bratwurst mit Brötchen -- Sorry, Sam...you're too young to try it...

Okay, sure...it was a TINY version of an Oktoberfest tent, but it was fun to hear the music and see the lederhosen...

Enjoying the atmosphere while nice and cozy under his hat and blanket...

Now on to run a few errands before Bible study and church. Not a bad way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon...
