And The Fun Continues...

Today was a good day. We received some great news, a package in the mail, and I had an interesting (but good) office visit with my nurse...

I'll just start with the fun part...While at my weekly shot earlier today, I nonchalantly told my nurse, D, about Monday's experience at L&D and before I could even finish the first sentence, you could tell she was fuming. Her eyes got real big and she nearly fell over after hearing about it all. She was beyond frustrated for us and felt that things were not handled as they should have been. It sure is nice to have an advocate on your side!

Then after telling her about my phone call with my peri in ATL (I spoke with them yesterday afternoon) and explaining to her what they want me to do -- complete bedrest at this point with obsessive monitoring of Sam's movements -- she immediately looked at the schedule so that I could be squeezed in before my next scheduled appointment. I love my nurse...have I mentioned that before? So I'll be going in for a complete check tomorrow afternoon. Here's hoping all looks good and Sam's doing well!

After getting my shot and having such a fun conversation regarding my little scare, I headed on over to Jimmy Johns. I may not be able to have deli meat, but that sure won't stop me from enjoying their #6 Vegetarian -- yum! A little JJ can make any afternoon a good one...

The rest of the afternoon was spent on my side on the couch -- per doctor's orders. Luckily, old man Oba just wants to sleep all day at this point, so he joined me on a blanket near the couch. As long as I wrap him up in the blanket, he could snore all afternoon. Talk about a peaceful few hours before James got home from work...

(Excuse the blur from the camera phone)

So yeah...when James got home, he immediately said as he walked through the front door that I received a package in the mail from Katie (a good friend of mine). This immediately brought a smile to my face. I knew she had said she was going to be sending something, but I didn't know what, so I was looking forward to seeing what was in store. That sweet friend of mine sent Samuel a couple of gifts! And to top it off, she recognized Mother's Day in the mix! What a sweet, sweet friend!

She said that she had to get the "handsome like daddy" shirt since she knew Sam was resembling his daddy in various ways...not to mention getting the "little brother" shirt for obvious reasons. I love it! Samuel is definitely surrounded by lots of love!

We spent the rest of the evening talking about what was in store for us in the coming year. Reason being...James received some rather large news today regarding his Army career. He was accepted into Civil Affairs, which will totally change up what he does in his job. He's beyond excited, so I am too. In fact, one of his coworkers told him that upon finding out the news, he looked like a kid in a candy store, ha! I think he's really looking forward to a change outside of what he has been doing the last few years.

I don't quite know what it all entails just yet -- beyond the general descriptions -- but I'm looking forward to the adventure. With this news, it means another move in a year or less, as he'll have to go through lots of training at another duty station. Here's hoping the next move will be a little more of an adventure than in the past due to a little man in the backseat! (And I don't mean Oba!)
