Another Momma Joins The Ranks...

So here I was going to post about excitedly making it to 31 weeks today (!!!!), but instead, my heart breaks for a girl on a forum that I've been a part of since the day James left for basic training. I got on my Army Wives forum this morning only to find out that Heaven gained another little angel. Like Livy, this mom found out during an OB appointment that her daughter's heart had stopped. She was just past 28 weeks when she received this news. Now she is faced with the terrible decisions forced upon us Babyloss Mommas after receiving such news...and with a 2 year old big brother, she is not sure how she's going to tell him that his little sister is no longer with them.

Losing a child is the worst thing a parent can experience, and reading this news just reminded me again of how it can happen to anyone. To those out there that are pregnant and have not gone through this, do NOT forget to do your kick counts and monitor that baby's movement! After my little scare on Monday, my peri's office reminded me to obsessively watch Sam's movements and even go as far as to poke and prod him occasionally to make sure he responds. I was already doing that, but it was a good reminder either way. Sure, kick counts won't prevent all deaths, but it can definitely help.

My heart goes out to this family, as they now have to deliver their baby girl in silence. Many prayers being sent their way!

  1. It breaks my heart to hear that it has happened to another family. No one is safe from this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

  2. Part of the cruelest things of being in this club is that you never, ever want anyone else to join and it breaks your heart when they do.

yet, whenever people go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies, I can't help but feel more self pity of "why me!?".

I hope they are surrounded by lots of love and support as they begin this journey.

  3. My first thought was oh noooo :( just breaks my heart to hear such horrible news. THe pain.. i wish none of ever had to endure that.

Hving to tell the sibling is the worst thing ever. Thoughts and prayers sent to her...
Whats the army wives forum you use?

  4. Pris so sad to hear about this story! Thoughs and prayers are with all the parents out there who have lost their babies.
Your news scared me but I'm thankful that Sam is ok prayers are coming your way I'm doing your countdown with my co-workers they ask about you a lot!
    Miss you, Rachel Brooks

  5. What a difficult story to have to read and relive...although, I'm glad that you may be able to connect with this mother and help her through everything. Thinking about you always, Priscilla. ((hugs))
