7 AND 8 Month Update...

That's right. I'm a bit behind on Sam updates. Seriously behind. The last time I posted a chair picture was December. Insanity...

I don't even know where to begin. Over the last two months, Sam has...

*Learned to drink from a sippy cup -- depending on his mood. Sometimes he loves it, other times he refuses.
*Begun independently eating finger foods -- again, only when he wants to. At times, he looks at me like, "Aren't you going to put that in my mouth?"
*Pulled up and stood while holding onto toys/furniture/our hands, etc. He's been doing this since around the 20th of Jan. Now, he nearly tries to run while holding onto my hands.
*Officially cut TWO teeth! (And has a strong, painful bite, ha!)
*Mastered the Army low-crawl. Plus, he now gets up on all fours and sometimes crawls like a big boy.
*Figured out the game of "Peek-a-boo." The laugh that results from playing that game is one of the best things I've ever heard. Heart-melting!
*Tried and LOVED chicken! The combination of chicken and sweet potato is the best thing EVER around here.
*Mastered the art of bathing in the regular tub without needing any assistance while sitting up. In fact, he loves to sit there and play with the bath toys while we lather him up. At times, you would think he missed dinner with how aggressively he tries to eat those toys!
*Figured out how to turn corners in his walker. It's crazy to think that at one point, he could only go in reverse in his car, but he can now go forward, sideways, and even maneuver around the hallways. I've already had to start putting breakable items in a safer place since he tries to pull them all down as he drives by.
*Experienced his first haircut, compliments of his momma.

I'm sure there's more, but I just can't think of them. Shame on me for not writing out an update sooner. Oh well. While I've been super behind at writing down his milestones, I most definitely have kept up with getting pictures of him. (Surprised?) So, here are the last two months in pictures -- including THE chair pictures!

Lovin' his Christmas presents at 30 weeks old...

Those Mum-Mum's are divine...

Enjoying his first bath without assistance...

Did I mention, he loves his bath toys?

Speaking of baths, this is how he took his baths before mid-January...
(A gift for Jacob from a friend -- this duck is oooooold!)

On one of the first nights that he started pulling up on the furniture. He was wanting help while trying out the whole "walking" thing...
(Don't you love my Care Bear sheets from my childhood?)

The little man gets SO excited when I push him around on this...

Couldn't resist, but on the same night, we took a comparison shot...

The poor guy gets bags under his eyes like his momma. This was right after he woke up one morning in January...

Speaking of sleep, ever since our trip to Indy, Samuel is NOT a fan of his crib!

Such a pitiful image of Samuel, but notice those two teeth?

While cruising along, he's always fascinated by Obadiah's cage. It won't be long before he crawls in there to join Oba, I'm sure...

Satisfied with the Moore Salon...

Enjoying the buggy at church...

Checking out his piano from the standing position...

Clearly NOT happy with his momma when we arrived at our destination, ha. Tears and the finger...Poor Sam!

While my parents were here over the weekend, he loved cuddling with them!
(Just before he turned EIGHT months old!)

Of course, he got a little frustrated with the fact that Grandma Julie couldn't handle his excitement for wanting to walk. I think he's growing up too fast for her. As you can see, she was slightly holding him back, ha.

Well if you're still reading, I'm almost done. Promise. I can't go without posting Sam's chair pictures!

7 Months in the chair...

Dr. Evil?

After crawling out of the chair and on a mission to play with Obadiah...

Annnnnnd 8 months...

Seriously, how can he be this old already?!

Showing off his name...

In deep thought...

Testing out the durability of the tag to Olivia's bear given to us by the hospital...

And to think...at one point, he could barely sit higher than the arm of the chair. Time is going by so quickly! It seems like the only thing not going growing at an insane rate is Samuel's waist -- all of his pants fall right off, but a smaller size looks like high waters!

Here's hoping I'll be a little better about putting together his 9 month update...or maybe not. Either way, we're enjoying every single second of our time with Mr. Samuel Ryan. Not a minute goes by that I don't catch myself just staring at him in awe. That beautiful little boy is my miracle and I'm so, SO glad he's here!

  6. What a big boy! Oh my goodness, Sam is growing up so quickly! It looks like he went through a big growth spurt between 7 and 8 months too. What a cutie!! I wish we all lived closer. Sam and Genevieve are meeting so many milestones at the same time. It would be so cute to see them together more often. I wonder what they will think of each other the next time we are able to meet! :-) I hope he re-acclimates to his crib here soon. Those teary eyes melt your heart!
His pictures are beautiful! And what a great haircut, mama!
Also, I love the IU onesie :)
