There were a couple firsts that happened over the last week, but before I get to those, I must talk about Samuel's visit with our wonderful OB and nurse earlier today. I had my 6 week postpartum appointment this morning, so (of course!) the little man came with me! Just as with many other friends and family, our OB and nurse were by our side during our entire pregnancy with Sam, so they were more than excited to see the growing (healthy) boy. It was great to see them both again, especially since the visit was full of joy and not stress as usual.
Here are a few pictures of Samuel with Dr. Stitt...
And here with my nurse, Deandre, who gave me the lovely weekly shots and NSTs...
We will never forget the great medical staff that we had during this pregnancy. Because of that, I wanted to make sure to have pictures to go along with Samuel's scrapbook if I ever get around to making one. I don't know how realistic it would be, but I think a trip up to see Dr. Gomez is in order -- assuming James can get a day off at some point. A picture of Samuel with our peri is a must!
After a wonderful appointment/visit, Samuel and I headed home and endured the dreaded tummy time. That's right, tummy time is now among the things loathed most by this little man. While it didn't bring on any tears today, it did last week. The horrible, awful, evil tummy time is what caused Samuel's first set of tears, ever. So while tummy time led to a nap this afternoon...
It was much different last week...
After such a pitiful reaction, he won that battle and didn't have to endure such evil for a few days after that. I'm sure if he had the option, he probably would've opted for another onesie after that horrible experience, ha.
Another first for Samuel over the last week was holding a bottle on his very own...
My sister, Rachelle, joked recently about how before we know, he'll be doing that...well...a few days after she said that, it came true. What's a starving boy to do?! I couldn't help but laugh out loud and, of course, text Rachelle a picture. Her response? "That overachiever...bring it!" I really think he's just trying to give me a run for my money and keep me alert. One day he'll do these crazy things that make me think he's trying to grow up way too fast, then the next day he goes back to needing assistance. Such a crazy little man...
Below are some random pictures from the last week that were uploaded with the others...
Love that smile of his...
A not-so-great family picture...
Surrounded by love...
Being loved on is tiring...
And leads to rejection, ha...
However, all is good while in dad's arms...
With as much as he gets to stare at his name, maybe that'll be the first thing he learns to spell...
Apparently posing for pictures is sleep-inducing...
Love that growing boy...
<3 He gets more adorable everytime I see new pics!
