A Rather Emotional Afternoon...

About 15 other Baby Loss Mommas and I participated in something called the Mama Project this past Saturday. A local photographer gathered us together at her studio for a time to share about our babies and get pictures in honor of Mother's Day. We each took turns going in front of the camera while holding something dear to us that reminded us of our angel(s). While she continued to shoot, we talked and told our story -- leading to several tears.

Jessica, the photographer, had an assistant there to talk with us while she shot and when it was my turn, her assistant happened to be my friend, Brooke (from my photography group). There were tears from both of us as I told my story. She already knew it from my blog and from our talking previously, but she was able to hear it in a little more depth this time around. I told her afterwards that she should feel privileged -- she saw me cry and that's not something many get to see, ha.

It was a good opportunity to be around others and have that support. What a wonderful thing for a photographer to do! I think we all were very appreciative of it!

On a side note, before I left for the Mama Project, I had James grab a quick picture for the 28 week mark. It's crazy that we're this far along already!

And on a TOTALLY unrelated note, while uploading the previous picture from my camera, I saw this one and laughed out loud. It took me by surprise, as I didn't even remember taking it. James came to last week's photography group and played with Brooke's sweet pup, Bella, before everyone arrived. The focus is completely off (I guess that's what I get for being in a hurry before she jumped down), but it still made us laugh. Gotta love these crazy pups!

  3. What an incredible idea...I am so glad that you are going to be able to participate in that project. Especially near mother's day, it is so comforting to be acknowledged as the mothers we are.
    You look wonderful!
It looks like Bella thinks she is a lap dog :-)
