Our appointment in Atlanta went really well yesterday. They first measured my cervix, which looks great (3.9). Then, once they put the wand on my stomach for the rest of the ultrasound, I was immediately relieved when I saw that heart pumping. Sambo's heart is going strong at 144 bpm, so I was happy to see that. He's also weighing in at 12 oz. right now, which is great.
While the tech continued to measure various things, we enjoyed watching Samuel move around and do his thing. He was quite proud and continually reminded us that he was, in fact, a boy, ha. Towards the end, we even caught a glimpse of him sucking his thumb! I love that we've been so fortunate to be able to monitor him so much and see him like we have. I can't wait for the next scan in 2 weeks!
Here are a few pictures from our appointment...
A footprint -- I wonder if he'll be able to compete with his sister's huge feet...

Our little thumb sucker...
After the appointment, we had a list of stores that we wanted to stop at since we were in Atlanta. Costco was first (of course), but next came James' new favorite store in GA -- that's right...he found a shop that had an AMAZING selection of fine beers! He said this place had a better selection than any store he has seen east of the Cascades. So to say the least, he was in HEAVEN...
After he grabbed a new brew that he's been wanting to try, but could never find, we continued on. We hit up some of our favorite shops, then we ended up at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner -- who doesn't love cheesecake?!
I absolutely love their Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple cheesecake...yum!
It seems like my week was themed around junk food -- first the M&M's then the cheesecake...oh well! It was a nice way to celebrate the fact that this little guy growing inside me is healthy and doing well. Here's hoping this good news continues and we easily pass the 21 1/2 week mark and beyond...
