Olivia's headstone has been set in place. I got the call yesterday evening from the monument company notifying me that they had delivered it. Then this morning, I received pictures from family of how it looked. They had already planned on visiting, so the timing was perfect.
It's a relief to know that the monument is there and looks just like we thought it would. You just never know with these things. With it being so permanent, I was a bit paranoid about there possibly being some kind of error in the engraving, etc. However, it's perfect just as it is and I'm glad for that.
Oh, how I wish Liv was here so we didn't have reason to deal with all of this...

I thought this third picture was really sweet. My mother-in-law said, "Since Mommy and Daddy are so far away, Oma Carmen made this one up for Father's Day. The rose is for Olivia and the butterfly is for Jacob and Jordan. Daddy's three little angels."
So now that this particular wait is over, we just have the countdown to when James gets home!! Up until last night, we thought it was just a matter of a few days, but it appears as though it will be longer. Who really knows? With the Army, ANYTHING can happen. I guess we can just pray that it's sooner than later and they don't waste any time getting him home! Ok, ok...don't waste TOO much time getting him home. I'm only fooling myself if I think the Army would actually bring him home without delay. You always hear, "Hurry up and wait," when in the Army...no truer words were spoken in this lifestyle...
