Poor pup...

Well, it's been a few days now since James headed back to Afghanistan. I'm glad he was able to be home for as long as they gave him, but it sucks that he couldn't stay longer. I don't think either of us are ready for this second half of the deployment, being that we're having to grieve the loss of Liv while dealing with it. I am grateful though for the time we had together, and we tried our best to make the most of it. Right before he left, we took Obadiah to one of his favorite spots (a local state park right on the Sound). Absolutely no one was there, so it was very relaxing. Unfortunately, not even Oba was much in the mood for exploring. He sniffed around a little bit, but more or less just looked depressed.

Poor Obadiah...

Ever since James left, Oba hasn't done much but sleep. He's had his moments of playing the same old game of demanding treats, and still thinks we need to get up multiple times throughout the night, but depression has overruled all of that. In fact, when we went downstairs today, he barely made it down the stairs. He stopped halfway, laid back down on the platform on the stairs, and just looked at me. I guess this takes a toll on everyone...
