A Busy Week...

What a week! It started with the 10th Anniversary to 9/11 and ended with this month's Face2Face meeting. In between, our time was filled with lunches/walks with new and semi-old friends and a balloon release for a sweet angel named Briar. It was definitely a week filled with joy and hope. Hope, because Briar will hopefully SOON be getting a healthy little brother. Joy, because every new experience with Samuel beats out the one before it. We sure do love that little man!

With this past Sunday being the 10th Anniversary to 9/11, I started it out like I do every year...staring at the television, watching the same programming that airs every year as they remember the horrific events that happened on that day. I always think about those that we know that lost loved ones and/or were there on that day. It's absolutely heartbreaking! About halfway through the day, James was done listening to that programming -- I can't blame him. So we decided to get out of the house and take Sam on a walk downtown. Of course, we forgot that we live in a small(er) town in the South...everything was closed! I suppose it worked out, though, as it was the most peaceful walk ever...

It was definitely a great way to start (what ended up being) a very busy week! Sam and I ran around quite a bit this week, and he was able to experience lots of new things in the process. Such experiences included falling in love with the jumper and walker...

Playing airplane with dad...

AND sleeping through the night! Okay, okay...that last experience only lasted one night, but still! He definitely found a way to stick his feet or hands out of the crib every single night -- he sure didn't start out that way...

Samuel was also able to participate in Briar's balloon release at the lake. (I wish I had pictures!) I'm very glad we were able to attend such a beautiful event and honor that sweet little boy. I can't wait to hear the news of Briar's little brother's healthy arrival -- hopefully within the next week! I can only hope that another rainbow can join the ranks!

Speaking of rainbows, Samuel and I met up with two of them earlier today. This was the first chance he's had to meet sweet little Norah and it's been over a month since he saw his buddy, Finley. It's such a joy to see these little babies sitting together. It's most certainly a different tone when we get together now -- smiles all around...

I can only hope that the mamas that I visited with during the Face2Face meeting earlier this evening can soon experience such joy. It seems like such a little thing to ask...
