That's A Bummer, Dude...

I'm going to be brief, as I'm totally exhausted, but Samuel is still baking and will be until next Tuesday (June 7th)...

After having the amnio this morning, I was admitted into L&D with plans of inducing once we had the results. However, after about a 3 hour wait, we found out that our little guy's lungs aren't quite ready yet. They were a few points under the comfort zone for inducing this early, so as much as we all (including my OB) wanted to meet him today, it just wasn't going to happen.

After getting the news, I was immediately supposed to be discharged, but much to my surprise, contractions kicked in -- resulting in several more hours of monitoring. I got to the point of having them every 2-3 minutes -- some being pretty intense, others not being noticed -- but since I was only dilated 2 cm with no change over time, they still decided to send me home. So...here we are...waiting...

They said that if the contractions become unbearable or if my water breaks, come right back. Otherwise, I'll see my OB on Friday for an NST, then plan on having the induction on Tuesday. Craziness. Here's hoping the next several days fly by! We'll both be super nervous and beyond antsy as we wait for that day to come!

  1. I will continue to pray for that little man and you guys too. I sure hope time flies by fast so Tuesday gets here very quickly. Or if those contractions keep it up..maybe he will just make his appearance on his own time :) Thinking of you and praying for you!

  2. Hey lovely lady...I will continue to think of you and little Samuel. Hoping he eases up a little bit or gets going a little bit faster. :) Hang in there, mama. A beautiful baby boy is gonna make his appearance very soon. ((Hugs))

  3. As much as any extra time for little Samuel is great....I know you must be going batty waiting. Hopefully the visiting family will help take up a bit more time and the days will pass more quickly. At least you can take loads of pics of Oba getting all those extra pets!

  4. I know it must seem like an eternity, but Tuesday is just around the corner! I hope it passes by fast though and that you are able to hang in there as best as possible - let me know if there's anything I can do. I can't wait to meet Sam. . . soon!

  6. Argh! I would have totally eaten my fingers by then. Sorry that's a gross imagery. But yeah, let Sambo enjoy his cocoon for a while longer. He needs strong lungs in order to 'roar' on his birthday. :) Hang in there! <3
