A visit w/ friends, Part 1: Seattle...

So due to the craziness of having friends in town, I haven't blogged lately. Going back to last Friday, two of our best friends flew in from Indy for a visit over the holiday weekend. We had a great time with them and were able to show them a hint of the PNW. In fact, we took them on "The Moore Tour" (as my sister, Deb, calls it) with Garmin Moore (as coined by my friend, Cara). As others have said, they can see why we like it so much here. I mean, what's not to like? Of course, they JUST missed the heatwave, so they enjoyed super cool temperatures. I was definitely glad for that seeing as how we don't have a/c in this house...

Anyways. Even though we had previously been to all of the locations we showed them, it was really nice to go again with good friends. Plus, we were able to explore a few new things along the way. James was able to hit up his absolute favorite American microbrewery (Deschutes Brewery, which has a pub house in Portland, OR), we found the BEST corn dog ever (located in Seaside, OR), and came across a beach that we must've missed last time we checked out the WA beaches.

Among the fun times, there were a few moments of sadness, as I thought of the different places that we went where we had planned on taking Liv this summer. I suppose that's bound to happen, though. It's just nice to have James by my side to go through them together. It was a great time though with good friends, and I'm glad they were able to come out for a visit. Below are a few (or more than a few) pics from their visit...

On the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle...
Thanks to someone with bread, we had a few friends follow us there...
James and I...
Matt and Sabrina...
Downtown Seattle...
Whatever Matt said must've been funny...
The Pike Place Market...
While waiting in line for our Piroshky -- yum...
The famous fish market...
The Tap House -- great food and 160 beers on tap...
Unfortunately, our waiter is probably enjoying James' Nike skullcap that I had just bought him, since he accidentally left it there...
The Space Needle...
We finally went to the top for the first time...

More pictures to come in Part Two: Oregon Beaches...
