With that said, how is it that Thanksgiving is NEXT week?!?! I absolutely love this time of year! This is when Thanksgiving and Christmas start to merge in this house. Our house is decorated with the harvest theme (it has been since September since I don't care for Halloween), but I have to admit, Christmas music and movies have been in full force for the last week or two. Ha. To add to the fun, there are so many crafts and activities I want to do with the boys that are holiday-themed. Now it's just a matter of finding time for it all. We did start doing a couple Thanksgiving crafts today with Samuel's school, which was fun!
I'm looking forward to teaching him more about the history of Thanksgiving this week and what it's all about. In fact, I think we'll have to make one of those place mats where you write out everything you're thankful for. Such fun times!
In other news, we've been busy learning over here at MAE since I've been on here last. Some days, it's fun. Others, it's a battle of wills. Either way, I love seeing how much Samuel is soaking up and how we can cater to his interests. Lately, the obsession to Bill Nye and Volcanoes/Earthquakes is still ranked #1. On our weekly library visit, he picked out 13 books about them, ha!
Here are a few pictures of our afternoon classwork...
Turns out, this is an incredibly slow science experiment...
Caleb enjoyed the view, while Sam used a wet paint brush to trace (and erase) the letters written on his chalkboard...
We love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom over here! Yay to finding great worksheets to go with it!
We learned about pen pals, so Samuel started writing a letter to two of his friends in GA. We're still working on that letter a week later, ha.
One of our fall crafts -- painting with a ball of foil, then using your finger to build the tree. Samuel's second painting looks more like the Burning Bush in the Bible, ha!
A big step for Samuel -- he has finally been willing for work on his speech at home!!! Here he is watching Pam Marshalla on YouTube (a well known SLP)...
And last but not least...Samuel dancing to one of his favorites, ha!
Oh, and before I go, here is the latest Paw Patrol letter. I know a few of you have been patiently waiting for a few weeks for this. I apologize about the huge delay!

ReplyDeleteI have been unable to find the letter L, can anyone help? I just found this and know how much my child loves Paw Patrol, so I'm hoping this will be a fantastic aid.
ReplyDeleteEric, I'm SO sorry!!! I thought I responded to you back when you originally commented. While cleaning out my emails, I saw this and realized I never did. I'm so sorry!!!
