Visitors And The Letter K...

How is it almost the weekend already??? Over the past week, we had my parents in town along with some old friends that we haven't spent time with in years. It was great to catch up briefly and I can't tell you how happy the boys were to see my parents! We lucked out with our friends' visit -- they happened to have to work in Vegas and decided to head down this way for a little vacation afterwards.

With my parents here the same time as our friends, they offered to watch the boys while we took our friends out to show them the area. We decided to check out a hike to a local waterfall. While the waterfall was rather disappointing, it was a beautiful hike! Once the boys are older and can handle it, we'll definitely take them up there. I think if we took them now, we'd be carrying both after about 10 minutes, ha.

Sadly, I have no pictures of all of us. Perhaps one of these days, I'll give in to the selfie stick…maybe…

On another note,  I'm really thankful that my dad's job brings him out here on occasion -- it makes living far from family a bit easier. The boys were in Heaven!!!

I love seeing how much they adore their Gpa and Dadewey (Grandma Julie). Here's hoping they can make it out here again soon!

Between last month's trip and this past set of visits, I've been really slacking with preschool at home. We've been doing it, but some days have been pretty basic. However, with the holidays approaching, the fun crafts and activities that can be associated with those are starting to bring the motivation to get back into the swing of things. I LOVE fall and everything that comes with it. I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but as long as it stays innocent and not scary, it's fun. Sam is a pro at YouTube (not exactly proud about that) and he found some super cute Halloween-themed cartoons that do various nursery rhymes, counting and singing the alphabet. With that, he's started asking when we'll get a pumpkin and how many days until he gets to go trick or treating. It's cute seeing him get so excited! The other day, while talking about shapes, he created his own cut out pumpkin -- apparently it needed 3 eyes, ha!

I love seeing him write his name. To me, it's bittersweet -- it's fun seeing him learn and grow, but it's also a constant reminder that my little guy is growing up way too fast...

We decided to backtrack a little and cover the letter F today since he's been working on that sound with speech class...

Showing off his fish that after cutting and gluing together, he said, "I need to decorate it!"

I love all the time I get to spend with this boy -- especially the one-on-one time while Thunder naps. Such a goofball!

And with that said, for those waiting for the letter K worksheets, please see below…
